Research Fellow Job Description
The Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts is open to applicants for a postdoctoral research fellowship within the divisional Section of Research in Inflammation and Allergic Disease. The studies will focus on the mechanisms by which products of prostaglandin E2 synthase control features of type 2 inflammation in asthma and sinus disease, including mast cell development and activation, platelet activation, and group 2 innate lymphoid cell activation. The studies will utilize a unique set of transgenic mice and in vivo models combined with state-of-the-art imaging, signaling assays, and transgenic animals, as well as close collaborations with a well-coordinated clinical program providing access to cells and tissues. A wide array of resources and equipment is available for these studies. The Hospital is a major teaching affiliate of the Harvard Medical School. Candidates with Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degrees with backgrounds in molecular biology, immunology, genetics, and proteomics are highly desirable. Experience with animal models preferred.

Working under general supervision of Principal Investigator, and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, conducts a variety of routine experiments where methodologies are clearly established. Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data using basic statistics. May perform literature searches under the direction of supervisor.
